"L'Année Blanc 2024" from Les Clos Perdus is a southern white that plays with your bearings. Tasted blind, many would place it much further north, such is its freshness, its tension and its energy — closer to certain great Loire Chenins.
The nose opens on mirabelle plum, lemon zest and grapefruit, soon joined by peach skin, white flowers and a delicately herbal touch of tarragon. A complex, precise and particularly expressive aromatic profile.
The palate is broad and silky, carried by a vibrant acidity that brings drive and balance. Behind the fruit, fine saline notes gradually emerge, extending the tasting into a long, structured and elegant finish.
This is a wine that pulls off the rare marriage of power and finesse, Mediterranean generosity and an almost northern freshness. A bottle as much at home as an aperitif as alongside a cheese board of brie, camembert, gruyère or young goat's cheeses.
