Maestral 2022 by Domaine des Maravilhas captures everything that makes the great wines of the Southern Rhône Valley so distinctive. Named after the famous Maestral wind—the Occitan word for the Mistral—this cuvée strikes a remarkable balance between power, freshness and elegance, beautifully expressing the unique terroir of Laudun.

The nose opens with an intense bouquet of ripe black fruits, led by blackberry, black cherry and plum. These generous aromas are complemented by classic Mediterranean notes of garrigue, thyme, rosemary and black pepper, while delicate hints of liquorice and sweet spices add depth and complexity.

On the palate, the wine is generous and velvety from the first sip. The richness of Grenache is perfectly balanced by the freshness of Syrah and the structure of Mourvèdre. Silky tannins support flavours of ripe dark fruit, spices and aromatic Mediterranean herbs. The finish is long, fresh and persistent, with a vibrant tension that brings elegance and precision to the wine.

The 2022 vintage is generous, harmonious and already wonderfully approachable, while also offering excellent ageing potential. A characterful Rhône red that pairs beautifully with grilled meats, roast lamb, slow-cooked dishes and aged cheeses.
