Régnié is the baby of Beaujolais' ten crus, promoted in 1988. It's still a young appellation, sitting a stone's throw from the legendary Côte de Py in Morgon. You need guts to make a name for yourself in a place this attached to tradition.

Thomas has them. His wines have got the whole area talking. Tomix is the proof: a Gamay that plays by the rules while shaking them up at the same time.

According to Thomas, it all comes down to the soil. His plots are among the most granite-heavy in all of Beaujolais: granitic sand, silica, pink granite and blue stones. That mineral mix gives the wine a depth and richness you wouldn't expect from such a young cru.
